 Dear Parents:

I am writing to inform you that Mrs. Debbe Tuttle, our 4 Year Old Teacher, will be retiring at the end of this school year.  She has taught at our nursery school for 27 years.  She is retiring to enjoy her grandchildren.  We want to wish Debbe well in all her retirement endeavors and thank her for her 27 years of love and dedication to her job.  When you think about all the young lives Debbe has touched over the years it is something to be proud of.  Her fun loving personality has left its mark in our memories and the lives of many children and now adults too.  We wish you well Debbe on your retirement and will never forget the legacy you made at our nursery school.

And now, we are happy to announce that Mrs. Jen Licata has been hired to replace Mrs. Debbe Tuttle.  After an extensive search for the best replacement we hired Jen.  She has a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in teaching and has had experience teaching Pre-K.  She lives locally in North Massapequa.  She is married and has three children of her own.  Jen is very excited to take over for Debbe and is looking forward to working with the 4 Year Old children at our school.  Jen has many new and innovative teaching ideas too.  We want to welcome Jen and are planning on a day for her to come to the school to meet our wonderful staff and parents.

Thank you once again for all your support!

Pentecost Sunday/Heritage Sunday/Confirmation Day May 20

On Sunday May 20th we will celebrate the birthday of the church as it is Pentecost Sunday.  We encourage our members to wear red

As tradition at Farmingdale UMC, it is with the Pentecost spirit that we will celebrate confirmation; blessing the confirmands with the Holy Spirit and sending them out into the world as disciples to spread the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our confirmands will publically affirm their Christian faith and commit to live the vows in the baptismal covenant and membership into the church.   We have two confirmands, Amanda Cioffi and Emily Tonna.

This year, The Unithed Methodist Church Heritage Sunday just happens to fall on Pentecost Sunday.  As we celebrate the heritage of the UMC we will honor our 50+ year members.  This year we will honor Mary DiVirgilio, Janice Holly, , Irma Labitzke Merle McCracken and Barbara Schmidt.

We will have a special enhanced coffee hour to honor our Confirmation Students and our 50+ Year Members. We hope you join us on this special day.
